Who sees the desperate

Fiveminutefriday and this week, after a rush (rash?) of family visits, I have time to sit down and write. Kate’s prompt DESPERATE links to the atrocities in Afghanistan and to many other situations where people are in desperate circumstances. Here is my five minutes reflection.

Lost, alone, beyond hope, sinking into the dark abyss,
All sense of comfort or companionship lost,
Abandoned, disregarded, overlooked,
No longer counted in the numbers of the human race
Homeless, dispossessed, of no merit.
They feel their futile lives will leave no trace.

Yet there is one who seeks those who are hidden,
Who sees the wanderer in the desert place,
Who knows the child who is helpless and forsaken,
And crouches with lives overturned by violence

He has a plan beyond all that human might can promise,
The one knows and loves us. El Roi -the God who sees me.
